Diamonds I was working as a Bank Manager, but I hail from a family which has been working in a traditional business for a long time. Our family business was not doing well; consequently all the brothers had to take up alternative employment in various organizations. Having had a very bad experience with the family business, I was very uncomfortable contemplating the idea of entering into a new business. My wife was also skeptical as she also comes from a business family which had suffered huge losses. We have two lovely children, daughter Amitpal Kaur and son Ravinder Pal Singh. My life was going smoothly till the time I was attacked in the bank by terrorists in 1990 during my rural service. After that my life became unpleasant as I was completely bedridden and was put on leave without pay. One cannot imagine how difficult life became for us, as I was the only bread winner in the family. In those unfortunate times, only one of our relatives came to our help. Even my bank, for which I worked hard, did not help us much. When my wife went to senior bank officers for compensation, she was told that the compensation could only be given in the event of a casualty. We felt very insecure at that point of time. We realised that, there is no guarantee of job security in service. I lost all hope and just watched the days go by. My wife was keeping the household running by borrowing money for expenses. Things started improving after I slowly recovered. Soon after re-joining the bank I was transferred to a far away place. I realised that despite the tragic incidence, my seniors and colleagues were not interested in my family’s well being. On one of those crucial days in our life, I was invited to witness the Amway business opportunity. I came back confused as I could not understand how it was possible to achieve financial stability by just devoting only one or two unproductive hours daily to the business, that too without disturbing one’s existing business! Also, I failed to understand how earning could go manifold within a short span of time! But I was convinced that this business was based on honesty, truthfulness and ethics where the core of the business was based on people helping people to help themselves. Apart from all this, one could also gain fame and friendship throughout the world. I had gone to the meeting with some other picture in mind but this information changed my whole point of view and I was left wondering “How could the business of Satyug be there in Kalyug?” I am thankful to God for giving me my inspiration in the form of my wife Surinder who motivated and pushed me to study this business. I believe that there are five kinds of success in this world viz physical, relational, financial, social and spiritual. All of these can be achieved through Amway and thus I call it a complete package for life. We are now physically much better and feeling much younger. During our journey of achievement to the Diamond level we were blessed with another reward, a little angel, our grand daughter Bismann. Now we have financial freedom and lead a stress free life with complete peace of mind. We believe that this business is the best thing to happen to us.
